Why is it so hard to be recognized in this field?

I’m a qualified agricultural technician and have always focused on working with organic agriculture, although I’ve also worked with conventional farming, hydroponics, and I even have a project ready to be implemented for mushroom cultivation.

Since last year, I’ve been self-employed, creating and implementing permaculture design projects, and I recently completed an internationally recognized Permaculture Design Course.

The thing is, I’m barely recognized in my field, partly because it’s a very niche area. When I do find job openings, they either offer minimum wage for the work and skills of three different people, or they’re unpaid volunteer positions.

Anyway, just venting. Does anyone know a country or place where this kind of work is more valued? I’m totally open to traveling and relocating.
